About Us

The University of Florida Area Health Education Program, UF AHEC Program, is administered through the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. Established in 1990 to coordinate the development and administration of an AHEC organizational infrastructure throughout a 37-county service area, the Program Office today continues to actively facilitate the linking of academic health resources with the needs found in north Florida’s underserved communities. The large number of community-based activities required in fulfilling these objectives are conducted by the AHEC Centers.
